Inyeon (인연) is a Korean word referring to fate, destiny, or a deep, pre-destined connection between people, often rooted in Buddhism and past lives. It suggests that relationships are not random but connections spanning lifetimes. It is commonly symbolized as a red thread connecting two souls.

The idea of inyeon (인연) takes on a particularly special meaning when seen through the relationship between a father and his son. In this context, inyeon suggests that their bond is not merely biological or coincidental, but something shaped long before this lifetime - an enduring connection carried across time. Within the perspective influenced by Buddhism, a father and son may be understood as souls who have met before in different roles, drawn back together again by unfinished ties, love, or shared karma.
